Turn screen recordings into Shorts people can follow
A tutorial filmed with your webcam in the corner doesn't crop well to vertical: either the screen is unreadable or you disappear. TheMomentra shows the whole screen across the top and you in a round picture-in-picture below it.
It finds the moments that teach one thing completely, so each Short is a tip someone can use, not a fragment of a longer lesson.

Inspect a narrated sequence of actual converter states, fitted into a vertical render with captions. The source is controlled demonstration material.
We supplied a script, synthetic voice and phrase timings, then rendered the clip locally. This demonstrates output and caption styling; it does not measure automatic transcription or speaker tracking.

The whole screen, never cropped
When a clip comes from a recording with a webcam, the complete screen goes across the top, so viewers see everything you do. Switch to any other framing in the editor.
You in a round picture-in-picture
Your face is taken from the webcam corner into a ringed circle below the screen, and the webcam's own corner of the screen is blurred so you don't appear twice.
Captions under you
Captions sit below your picture-in-picture, where they cover neither your face nor the screen.
One tip per Short
Moments are chosen for a clear start and a complete ending. Make a clip from any part of the transcript when you know the moment you want.
Technical words, spelled right
Correct a product name or command once with find and replace, and update every clip with the corrected words.
Tighter pacing
Shorten the pauses while you type or wait for something to load, and remove “um” and “uh”.
Small text on screen stays small in a vertical clip. Zoom in or increase the font size while recording if you plan to make Shorts from it.
How it works
- 01
Make the source readable
Record a task you can explain in one clip. Enlarge code or slide text first and keep private tabs, notifications and credentials out of view.
- 02
Choose one complete task
Review the transcript and select a moment with the setup, action and result. A fragment of a longer tutorial may lose essential context.
- 03
Fit the screen, then inspect
Choose a suitable framing. Use a full-frame layout when a webcam is absent; do not assume speaker detection found a person.
- 04
Check on a phone
Play the actual saved video at phone size. If important text is too small, simplify the source or show a closer view before exporting.
Questions
What kind of recording works?
A screen recording with your webcam in a corner, recorded with tools like OBS, Loom or Zoom, exported as MP4 or MOV. Clear speech gives the best transcript.
What if there's no webcam in my recording?
Choose the manual crop and set the part of the screen to show, or the full-frame option, which fits the whole screen with a dark background.
Can I change the layout of a clip?
Yes. Switch between screen and speaker, following the speaker, blurred background, full frame or a manual crop. Each change renders a new version.
Will it post anything without me?
No. Every clip waits until you have watched it and confirmed its content, captions, visuals and audio. YouTube uploads start as private, and you choose the channel, audience and visibility each time.
Can I try it for free?
Yes. The Free plan includes 30 minutes of video a month with no card needed, and your first video has no watermark.
