TheMomentra turns a long video you upload into short clips with captions, and can publish clips you approve to your YouTube channel. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who processes it and how you control or delete it. Questions: team@themomentra.com.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, and the name and profile photo from Google if you sign in with Google.
- Your content: the videos you upload, their transcripts and your corrections, the clips we render, and your edits, reviews and feedback on them.
- YouTube, if you connect it: your channel's ID and name, an encrypted access token, and for clips you publish, the video ID, the details you chose and its upload status. With your optional permission, read-only view and engagement figures for those videos.
- Service records: processing history, usage needed to run and bill the service, and error logs.
- Sharing and teams: links you make to a finished clip (anyone with a link can watch that clip until it expires or you switch it off), people you invite to work in your account (the label you give them and, once they join, their account), and, if you use an invite link, the invite code kept in your browser until you sign in.
- What you send us: editing requests (your notes and how to reach you) and any feedback you write. Feedback is shown on our website only if you tick the box that allows it.
- Site visits: anonymous page-view counts (the page, referring site, country and device type) through Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn't identify you or link visits to your account.
- How visitors find us: for the current browser tab, we can remember the first public page and a broad source category such as search, social or direct. We strip query strings and never retain search terms, full referrer URLs, private project paths, video titles or transcript text for this attribution. When you sign in, we can associate that visit with your account to measure uploads and a first usable clip. The browser record expires after 24 hours. The linked first-party event follows our account-usage records; its account-owner link is removed when the account is deleted. It is used for product measurement, never billing or permissions.
- Product analytics: the same anonymous steps (opening sign-up or plans, opening the upload page) are sent to PostHog to see where people stop. PostHog gets no cookies or browser storage from us, no session recordings, and nothing that identifies you or links a visit to your account.
- How the service is used and how it performs: steps such as opening sign-up, uploading, approving and publishing (to see where people get stuck), anonymous page-speed measurements (Vercel Speed Insights) and error reports when something breaks (Sentry), without your videos, transcripts or passwords.
How we use it
Only to provide the service you asked for: transcribing your video, finding and rendering clips, showing you their status, and uploading the clips you approve. When you rate a suggested clip, or publish clips and let us read their numbers, that steers which moments we suggest from your later videos, for your account only. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use your videos or transcripts to train AI models.
Google and YouTube data
TheMomentra uses YouTube API Services. By connecting a YouTube channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
- Permissions we ask for: uploading videos (youtube.upload), reading your channel's identity and the status of videos we uploaded (youtube.readonly), and, only if you tick the box, read-only analytics (yt-analytics.readonly).
- What we do with them: upload a clip only after you review it and press Upload, with the title, audience and visibility you confirm; show which channel is connected; and report the status and, if allowed, the performance of videos we uploaded for you. Nothing is published automatically.
- TheMomentra's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Revoking access: disconnect YouTube in Integrations, which revokes our access with Google and deletes the stored token, or remove TheMomentra at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Who processes your data
- Hosting and storage: our website host (Vercel), our cloud database and authentication provider (Supabase) and private video storage (Amazon Web Services).
- AI providers: your audio is sent for transcription and your transcript for moment selection and quality checks (currently OpenAI and Google). Their retention follows their terms for API customers; we cannot promise they keep nothing.
- YouTube: receives the clips you choose to publish.
- Monitoring: Vercel (visit counts and page speed), Sentry (error reports) and PostHog (anonymous steps), to keep the service working and see where people stop.
- Payments: Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record, collects your payment details, billing address and tax information when you buy a plan, under its own privacy policy. We receive only your plan, its status and Paddle's customer and subscription IDs, never your card or UPI details.
How long we keep it
- Original videos: 30 days after upload, then deleted.
- Transcripts, clips and project records: until you delete the project or your account.
- YouTube connection: until you disconnect it or delete your account. Records of uploads stay with their project so you can find the video.
Your choices
In Settings you can download all your data or delete your account, which deletes your projects, videos, clips and transcripts and disconnects YouTube. Videos already published on YouTube stay on your channel; remove them in YouTube Studio. You can also ask us to access, correct or delete your data: team@themomentra.com.
Security
Videos are stored privately and shared only through short-lived signed links. YouTube tokens are encrypted at rest. Every request is checked against your account.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date above and tell you in the app before the change applies.
